Rivalry Week - Say That Five Times Fast!

I do in fact watch sports. And today I spent the morning and part of the afternoon watching my Buckeyes kick some Wolverine tail! Yes, I am a graduate of THE Ohio State University. I wear the scarlet and gray colors of my alma mater proudly. I even recruit my friends to be fans. I have one of my best friends meet me at our local watering hole/sports bar for all the major OSU football games and dang it, now she's a fan! She even said to me that maybe she'll take an online course or two from OSU, just so she can be a real Buckeye...heh. I think she should take enough courses to finish her bachelor's degree. ANYWAY, I'm just waiting for Michigan STATE to beat Penn State, so Ohio State can take the Big 10 Championship and go to the Rose Bowl. Should that not work out however, I'll still be watching some good OSU football in January, 2009. Just sayin'...

UPDATE: Penn State is kicking the other Michigan team's tail, so the Rose Bowl is not likely for Ohio State. Tune back in for Bowl Bids and the final outcomes of the BCS...

I have to confess.

That whole *THE Ohio State University* thing cracks me up every time.

I went to grad school in Ohio; to one of the *lesser* state schools. I interned in Columbus during that time, at the Department of Development. One of my projects was to build a life table for *THE Ohio State University's* alumni association. I had been living in the state for a year, and that was the first time I realized how serious y'all are about the *THE* in *THE Ohio State University*. It just cracked me up.

It's like the school's compensating for something, if you know what I mean [like loses to SEC teams].

hah. THE Ohio State University has always confounded me. But then, I went to Miami-of-Ohio, which confounded me for a good year or two while I was there.

Jannie...me neither...heh.

Trop...That's why I just had to emphasize it. It's too funny. I have no comment about the SEC games...heh.

Lynt...that Miami of Ohio thing STILL confuses me...lol

There's some whole Ohio joke here that I'm not getting.

Have you reviewed any Black Opal wines? Under $10 even here and I had a shriaz that was quite good, I thought.

Citizen...apparently I share some sort of Ohio connection with many of my readers. The only humorous part is Ohio State's OFFICIAL school name which is "The Ohio State University". Somehow the word "The" was attached to the name. I should probably research this and find out why. Anyway, anyone who knows Ohio State, even if they didn't go there, always kid about the "THE"... Then there's Miami 'OF" Ohio, presumably to differentiate it from that OTHER school in Florida...heh.

As for the Black Opal wines...no I haven't done the reviews, but the Shiraz is very good for one under $10. I've had a it a few times, but not in the past year. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep that one in mind for a review.

Yeah me too but it doesn't compare to the whole Penn State thing... (ex is a Penn Stater, been watching those games fer years..;)

Hope...please enlighten us on the "Whole Penn State thing". I have NOOOOOO idea what that is, but since it doesn't compare to the "THE" in The Ohio State University, I must know now...lol

can't deal with the whole NCAA madness... I'm more of an NFL gal... but I guess that living in the Broncos state would turn me to Ncaa also... ;)
