Saturday Surf - Dressing Up for HRC

I'm going to the HRC Colorado annual dinner tonight. It's a dressed up affair. Yeah, I'm dressing up...in a DRESS...and heels. My feet will probably hurt tomorrow, but it's for a good cause. I was invited last year, and really I should have gone. But lacking in funds and time, I didn't go. I think I missed my opportunity to make a good impression with a certain someone who attended and was single. This year it happens that I'm invited to sit at the table of a friend who is actually one of the speakers this year. Wow, who knew. Anyway, if you check back tomorrow, there is a small chance you can see my dress...maybe. On the other hand, I've been having a challenging two weeks in what has turned out to be a really challenging last 8 months. I'm not ready to write about it. It's occupied my emotions to the point that writing in general would sap the rest of what little energy I've had to get through each day. Yeah, it feels that bad. At least I can still stand (or sit) to read everyone else's posts and make the occasional comment.

Got your text last night that is so exciting...sorry I didn't respond I was a dance competition all day/night and crashed hard when i came home. I hope you had fun, can't wait to see pictures...hope the tootsiees aren't hurting to much. As for the bad week you'll share the info when its right, if its something bad and its consuming half your life, your right dont allow it to consume all of it like your blogging time becasue thats your personal time and should not have to assist in the bringing your down part. I'm always here to talk though.

Citizen...it's hard to dance in pinchy shoes...but I managed a few songs in the 70's/80's/90's room (my age is showing) of the dance club next to the event center.

J...thanks! As a pic of me in a dress. My cellphone camera doesn't have flash, and the event center was pretty dark most of the time. A photographer did take my pic (for a fee I can have a copy), but the event pics haven't been uploaded to the photographer's website yet...

I've been to one of those posh LGBT gala dinners once in my whole life (dress and heels included), and boy did it feel like a fancy speed dating night or what??
Not to diminish the importance of events like this, but seriously I felt like a lamb in a lions den :P

Hope everything is gonna be clearer and less troublesome for you not just for the blogging time but mostly for yourself :)

I wear wedge heels. You get the height and look but not so hard on the feets.

Jannie...I just don't think there's a pair of wedge heels that would look right with the semi-formal dress I was wearing, but I can totally see why those would be preferable to what I was wearing in the comfort department!
